Fatima Zohra Benali works on energy management strategies within buildings, with the aim of reducing the economic and environmental impact of electricity consumption.
Her work focuses on systems including building, equipment, storage and local renewable production. She is studying an optimal control method that will determine the best strategy to apply according to system constraints and optimization objectives (for example, reducing heating consumption during peak hours). This is predictive control, using weather forecasts over several days. A case study is used to test and improve the algorithms.

Office building with solar panels
Buildings can be designed and operated to radically improve their energy efficiency and reduce their environmental impact.
