Biao Yin works on large-scale agent-based transport simulations (MATSim) for mobility studies in the Île-de-France (Greater Paris) region. This means that he studies the environmental impacts of urban access regulation and micro-mobility (scooters, bicycles, electric scooters, etc.) on a neighbourhood level.
His work focuses on the simulation of activities and movements of agents (people and vehicles) in accordance with transport management policies. He also takes a keen interest in data science for mobility analysis, traffic regulation and an integrated modelling of land and transport use.
The environmental performance of mobility systems is linked to energy consumption, emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases and the effects of disruption and fragmentation of natural habitats due to the construction
